簡介: Gloria Gaynor，生於1949年紐澤西州的一個小鎮，少女時代就決心闖蕩歌壇，1975年在全美迪斯可舞廳DJ聯盟年度票選中選出Gloria Gaynor為迪斯可女王，但不久這個光環很快被Donna Summer給搶走。
1978年 春天"Gloria Gaynor"在歐洲登台時不小心跌落舞台，使得Gloria Gaynor脊髓受損並臥病在床達9個月多，加上復健期間母親又去世，這許多的打擊幾乎讓她崩潰，康復後她努力振作，找來了兩位製作人Dino Fekaris、Freddie Perren共同寫下這首"I Will Survive"證明自己戰勝了怯懦，這首"I Will Survive"的推出，便將Gloria Gaynor推上事業的巔峰。"I Will Survive"這首1979年蟬連6周冠軍白金曲，成為當時70年代Disco必備歌曲；最重要的是，此曲也被滾石評為100首最偉大的作品之一。
至今Gloria Gaynor依然活躍於各個地方，現場巡迴表演，電視通告，錄製新專輯等等，她更致力於從事各項的公益活動，尤其是對於福音以及兒童關懷基金會的運作。
