Mom told me she visited Grandmother today. She's been in a state of unconciousness since Sunday the 25th, when she was admitted to the hospital. Mom tried to talk to her, but she is not responding in anyway. She has pipes through her nose for food/medicine intake, pipes through her mouth for the lungs to help breathing, and some needles through her arms. Her skin/body are swollen. According to the nurse, since the doctor was not present at the time, grandmother have not been able to eat at all because her body will not accept food injected into her and she's been throwing up when fed. Her digestive system is not functioning, which is another reason her body is not taking in food. Her blood pressure is slightly lower than normal, but the nurse said that its ok because the rate have been consistent. Grandmother has been dependent on the machine to help her breath although she can breath on her own but with a limited spand of time. She is pretty much dependent on the machine 2/3 of the time to help her breath. She simply looks as if she is just sleeping, except that she is not responsive to anything/anyone.... But I want to reply to her silience....I Love You Grandma!!!
