Dire Straits 是英國非常俱有份量的樂團. 靈魂人物主唱 Mark Knophler 所彈的一手好吉他, 與Eric Clapton可以並列英國兩大吉他之神. 其實Mark Knophler 原本是一位記者, 我想這與他的作品中的歌詞都好像在說故事有點關聯. 另一首與 Sting 合唱的 Money for nothing 也是描述他在路邊聽到兩個工人的對話所寫成的. 這首 Sultans of swing 最後的吉他 solo 非常好聽, 也是本曲的高潮.
