When a disaster happened, we often saw a lot of people who dressed in blue and white helped the victims even earlier than government. Who are these people? They helped the Tzu Chi Foundation volunteers. The Tzu Chi Foundation, a charity founded by Master Cheng Yen in 1966, started with only 30 members but now has offices in 47 countries.
The volunteers in the foundation provide people in need with eight major fields of services: charity, medicine, education, culture, international disaster assistance, bone marrow (骨髓)donation, environmental protection, and community volunteers.
